July 7, 2009 was celebrated as Guru Purnima with great enthusiasm and participation by the devotees of Oklahoma at the Nithyananda Vedic Temple of Oklahoma City. The celebration started with great anticipation as devotees sang bhajans, watched Swamiji's discourses and videos and shared their experiences of the gift of the Guru in their lives. Swamiji was welcomed in procession and by Purnakumbha and garlanded as He was placed on the simhasana. Bhajans continued singing in praise of Swamiji and the air was filled with devotional outpourings from the devotees. The event started with an introduction to Swamiji's amazing Mission and then an explanation of the Guru and Guru Bhiksha in both English and Gujarathi. Everyone meditated and paid their sincerest gratitude in participating in the Guru Paduka Puja and Maha Arathi.
