Nithya Kirtanalaya, the music wing of the Foundation is
rapidly growing with tremendous contribution to the world at large.
Music is believed to be the source of all creation. The origin of music has
been traced in many different ways through ancient lore. Along with its 7
keynotes, music is largely believed to be sourced from Shiva’s damaru
at the time of his cosmic dance. It is considered the source of all
consciousness from which springs forth the stream of life.
Music can be ‘seen’ and ‘heard’ in wondrous ways in
nature. In the rising sun, in the flow of the rivers, in the cries of the
birds, one can feel its resonance. Apart from its celebrative qualities, music
nourishes and awakens the subtle energies within our system. It spurs one from
the form to the formless, from words to vibrant silence to experience the
beauty of all creation, and the creator that is Existence, of which we are a
part.
Music is the ultimate unifying medium to integrate the ‘body, mind and
spirit’, ‘thought, words and actions’ and attain fulfillment
at the level of the being.
Music is a tremendous positive influence over man. Meerabai or Meera, one of
the foremost lady mystics of the world from India, composed and sang divine
music to Lord Krishna, her beloved. The sheer spirit behind her music melts
hearts even today, creating national solidarity in its own way.
Divine music is moving energy outward by creating tones. Strong internal
vibrations are created that can cleanse the chakras, our energy
centers, and rebalance them. Sacred sounds can help us find the inner hum
in the center of our being and allow it to resonate through our body. Our
body needs attunement. Our wounds must be opened to release blocked energy, and
music is the key to it.
It is said that a Master’s form is a yantra - a figure to
meditate upon, his teachings tantra - techniques to practice,
and his name mantra – a chant for repetition to liberate oneself
from the mind.
Nithya Kirtanalaya awakens one to experience the mystery
of sound, music and creation through chants and music on a living Master. It
puts one into joyful meditation where the inner and outer worlds merge and
resonate with Existence. Rendered through deep devotion and love towards the
Whole, music from Nithyananda Kirtanalaya instantly connects one to the inner
realms of the Being.
