Sharply at 7:00pm Swamiji commenced the Himalayas Yatra 2008, with
a small discourse. He said that this was the smallest and most intimate group he has had the pleasure to
interact with in the last 5 years.
"Ego is rooted in the location in which you stay. Moving from
that fixed location you have so far been in, helps drop your ego". "This journey, the 2008 Himalayas yatra is about experiencing Shiva consciousness. Shiva is causeless auspiciousness. Therefore, experience everything that you fare as auspicious and welcome. Nothing will frighten you. Even difficulties and challenges will only
uplift you. Do not create a distance between you and Existence. Be Shiva and be in His consciousness."
He then blessed each of the sixty yatris and gave them a collection of Shiva's anga and abharana, limbs and ornaments. These included a trishul (trident), Yoga Danda (a resting support for the body), Kamandalu (waterpot), rudraksha Mala and meditation mat. "Go as Shiva" he blessed them, "We will
